Exciting New Find: Lodging at Coffee Cup Cottage
Book a stay at a the Airbnb Guest Favorite coffee-themed vacation rental in the Denver, CO area
If you enjoy the occasional trip to the Denver, Colorado area, I have some great news. There is now a coffee-themed vacation rental (aka, AirBnb, VRBO, or short term rental) available just south of Denver in the City of Centennial. Coffee Cup Cottage was created to celebrate all things coffee. Starting with the hip wood and logo artwork on the feature wall in the living room, you will feel welcomed — and reminded that coffee is one of the good things in life. With numerous coffee-themed books, including cookbooks, drink recipe books, fiction, history, self-help, and a series of “coffee with…” books that are like coffee shop interviews with famous historical figures, you will always have a good book to curl up with next to the cozy fireplace…with or without a warm cup of joe. Speaking of which, there are quirky and profound bits of coffee wall art and other little touches that remind you of the comfort that comes from coffee itself. In addition to coffee drink posters, there are inspirational quotes and sayings about coffee and life that will turn you into a coffee philosopher during your stay.
To add to the idea of coffee and comfort, the beds are all made with luxurious cotton sheets, comforters with soft, white duvets, colorful and soft throws, and lots of pillows. There are two large TVs, one in the main gathering area of the living room, and the second is downstairs in the flex space with bunk beds. I could see myself hanging out down there with some coffee watching movies with the family. And for the primary bedroom, there is a 40″ TV in there as well to allow tired parents a respite or for couples to binge on your favorite Netflix series in bed. Everything is so thoughtfully done. It truly feels like a home away from home.
Oh…and I mustn’t forget the coffee bar. Let me dish about the coffee bar. Just upon first glance of the coffee bar in the kitchen, you can see there are four ways to make coffee: Drip, Pour Over, French Press, and Nespresso. A very helpful guide to making coffee is laminated and sits next to the Nespresso machine. In it, you can follow instructions or links to YouTube videos on how to make coffee each of these ways, but also with a Cold Brew option. So by my count, that makes five ways to make coffee. This is a great feature for folks who may never have been able to try a new method at home but can now experiment while on vacation. The hosts of Coffee Cup Cottage typically greet guests with a gift of a bag of locally-roasted whole bean coffee, and there are flavored coffee syrups, to-go cups, stir sticks, Nespresso capsules/pods, creamer, and all the coffee fixings you could want for your usual coffee creations. And for guests who prefer tea, there is a pretty nice selection of herbal and black teas with a Cosori gooseneck kettle to brew the perfect cup. Any kids visiting may also appreciate the hot cocoa mix provided along with the coffee and tea. Depending on the day, there may even be a few marshmallows floating around too.
If you’re fortunate enough to stay here, you can also enjoy some time around the fire pit with your friends and family. I could see myself enjoying a nice cup of joe (likely decaf) on one of those crisp Colorado evenings while hanging out around the fire. If the weather is warm enough, there is also a nice patio with plenty of room for 8 to dine al fresco — or enjoy some morning coffee and a pastry before you start your day. While Coffee Cup Cottage is located on South Broadway, which can be rather busy at times, if doesn’t interfere with the cozy, comfortable experience you will have once inside or out in the large backyard. As other past guests have mentioned in the numerous glowing reviews, things quiet down at night and the windows are nice and very well insulated.
Finally, it’s important to highlight what makes Coffee Cup Cottage such a special place — other than the coffee theme. The hosts have gone to great lengths to ensure so many great amenities for the price point. In addition to the coffee bar, there are plenty of cooking supplies, spices, serving plates, place settings, and cute coffee mugs with little sayings on them. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, nice towels, and an “in case you forgot something” basket offering a toothbrush, razor, or toothpaste are all wonderfully convenient for weary travelers who may not have remembered to pack everything. The house is very clean and nicely decorated, which makes you feel immediately at home in the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. I would definitely love to put my extended family up there next time they visit the area. The hosts are very responsive and truly care about their guests. So for any coffee lovers out there, definitely consider booking Coffee Cup Cottage for your next visit to the Denver area.
